We are delighted to announce we are producing 2+1 by Tara Pilbrow Dance.
2+1 is an innovative dance theatre piece about the joys and terrors of early parenthood. The piece captures the wonder, stress, exhaustion and confusion that first time parents feel during the first years of their child's life. Audience members and their children are invited to stay for a play/ chat/ drink with the company members after the show.

In December 2015 we hosted our second networking event at the Lyric Hammersmith. The event was attended by over 30 dance artists, choreographers, producers and dance students. On Wednesday 9 December we hosted our launch and a networking event. Over 40 people attended our event at the Lyric Hammersmith. In January we will be circulating a note from the event stay tuned for more!
This December we delivered a project in partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum for young people aged 16-24 years. Inspired by a guided tour of the Performance Gallery DanceWest artists Kate Mummery and Hakeem Onibudo support the young people to create a performance and gain their Arts Award!

We are excited to announce that this December we will be delivering an innovative project in partnership with the V&A.
Working with young people aged 16-24 the project aims to provide them with an opportunity to take part in a professional lead project, gain skills from professional artists and achieve an Explore Arts Award qualification.

On Sunday 4 October, DanceWest delivered contemporary dance workshops at a huge Silver Sunday event produced by Open Age. Stay tuned for news on our classes for adults over the age of 60 years.

On Tuesday evening (14 July), DanceWest hosted an event attended by over 50 dance professionals to inspire a fresh vision for dance across West London.
Rosie Whitney-Fish, Founder of DanceWest says: "This has been a great opportunity for the dance community, artists and organisations to meet together and kick start a conversation about the future of dance in West London. We're passionate about the benefits dance can to bring to our local communities. There's a growing appetite for dance in this part of London and a key part of DanceWest vision is to support the existing dance scene alongside exploring new ways to reach to wider audiences." The networking event is the first of a series of meet-ups for dancers, choreographers, teachers and producers based in West London to hear about forthcoming programming, exchange ideas and forge stronger working relationships.
Frame: The London Dance Film festival is a major event produced by BalletBoyz and the international Music + Media Centre (IMZ Vienna) which will take place next June. Screenings of feature length films alongside competitive shorts will be accompanied by a public programme of events alongside industry workshops led by prominentfigures in broadcasting, music and dance. DanceWest are working in partnership with BalletBoyz to deliver a West London schools competition and to curate a series of public programmes. More to follow!
