Move to Health is a pioneering dance programme for adults 60+. All classes are free and take place throughout the week. The dance classes combine evidence-based exercise with the creativity, energy of dance. The programme is delivered in sheltered housing, care homes and community centres across. We offer different dance styles and three types of classes seated, seated to standing and active.

Benefits Taking part is an enjoyable way to stay fit, mobile, and improve balance and flexibility. 

Who is it for? The classes help to improve physical and mental health supporting independence and quality of life. The programme is for both male and female participants. The programme began in 2015 with a successful pilot programme in Hammersmith & Fulham. This has since been expanded to seven West London boroughs.

What happens in class? The sessions are led by fully trained dance specialists recognised internationally for their work. Our dance artists have training in dance movement therapy, dance physiotherapy, dance for Parkinson’s and dance for Dementia. Each session is tailored to the needs and requirements of those participating. The class starts with a warm-up, which mobilises the joints, there are structured exercises, choreography and then freestyle. After each session there is an opportunity to relax and catch up with other.
