Learning through Movement and Expression: At DanceWest, our classes are centred around learning through movement and expression. We believe that dance provides a platform for children to express themselves physically and emotionally, nurturing their creativity and self-expression.

Development of Social, Physical, and Emotional Skills: Through participation in our dance classes, children develop a range of skills essential for their holistic growth. They enhance their social skills by engaging with peers, refine physical coordination through movement, and learn to express themselves emotionally through dance.

Theme-Inspired Choreography: In our classes, we introduce theme-inspired choreography to spark creativity and engagement. Each dance routine explores different themes or narratives, allowing children to delve into the creative process while mastering new dance techniques.

Building Connections and Collaboration: At DanceWest, we prioritise building connections and fostering collaboration among our young dancers. We encourage students to work together, support one another, and communicate effectively as they learn and perform dance routines as a team.

Hands-On Learning with Instructor Guidance: Our instructors provide hands-on guidance and support to each child while also empowering them to explore their own creativity and problem-solving skills. We cultivate a supportive learning environment where children feel encouraged to take risks and confidently express themselves through dance.

About the classes: Our after school classes are facilitated by a team of professional teachers offering your child access to experienced and nurturing industry leaders. All of our teachers are DBS checked, adhere to our safeguarding and health and safety policies.

  • Footwear: Please bring socks, ballet shoes or a soft shoe. We do not allow outdoor footwear in our studio.

  • Comfortable clothing:  For our dance classes, we encourage everyone to wear what they feel the most comfortable to move in.

  • Water bottle: It's important to stay hydrated during your classes so make sure you bring your water bottle. We have multiple water points in the building where you can have a refill. In case you'd forget, you can purchase water bottle

Class structure: Our general class structure follows the format of a warm up and dance game, skills and technique section, working on a routine and freestyle - plus an end of term performance for family and friends showcasing the two routines we have learnt that term.
